Planning meeting in Iași of the Steering Committee within the Project Effective joint response in cross-border emergency situations
Between December 15-16, 2022, the leadership of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations participates in Iași within the Steering Committee of the Project “Effective joint response in cross-border emergency situations”. The purpose of the meetings within the working sessions is to strengthen the level of cooperation and deployment of best practices acquired during the implementation of the project. Here the leadership of the IGSU represented by the head of the Inspectorate Colonel Alexandru Oprea, the beneficiaries of the program from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, as well as the implementation team discuss aspects necessary for the development of the project in order to strengthen the level of cooperation in the field of safety and protection of the population.









The main objective of the project consists in the construction and equipping with information and communication technologies of two dispatches in the municipality of Balti and the municipality of Iași according to European standards. Dispatch offices will cooperate, ensuring more effective communication and will contribute to the development of information management between structures to liquidate the consequences of exceptional situations. The dispatcher from Bălți municipality will serve 11 districts in the north of the country, and the one from Romania will serve the area belonging to the municipality of Iași.
This project aims to increase the defense and intervention capability in emergency situations and strengthens the field of cooperation in crisis situations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania. The cross-border project “Effective joint response in cross-border emergency situations” is financed from European funds, within the “Joint Operational Program Romania – Republic of Moldova 2014-2020”, being estimated at 2.6 million euros.
